How the Plant Spacing Calculator works

Plants are laid out in a square grid. Plants per row = bed length ÷ spacing, rows = bed width ÷ spacing, both rounded down. Check the seed packet for the spacing each crop prefers. Example: with the default values, a 3 × 1.2 m bed at 30 cm spacing holds 40 plants (10 per row, 4 rows).
